 Rebecca Crane, MA
Rebecca Crane was born in Doylestown, Pennsylvania to a teacher/healer and an artist. As an only child in a rural neighborhood she learned to develop her intuitive skills and enjoyed observing the cycles of time in nature.
After discovering her love for astrology and completing her BA in Psychology while living in North Carolina, Rebecca moved to California to study at JFK University - one of the few schools at the time offering a Master's degree in Transpersonal Counseling Psychology. Transpersonal psychology focuses on the energetic space between the therapist and client in a way that can access valuable new information in the session. She realized that integrating this type of approach with an in-depth and heart-centered astrology could offer increased healing and a highly effective layer of connection between therapist and client.
After several years of studying some great astrologers and doing the chart of any person she met, Rebecca became involved with the formation of the Association for Young Astrologers (AYA) when there was a surge of interest from a group online in 2003. She began to connect with other astrologers besides her mentors and knew that she had met her family! She spoke at a couple of astrology conferences and continued to build her private practice while acquiring therapeutic skills in mental health and social work agencies during the day.
One of her favorite supervisors from those environments, Gail Waxman, PsyD., became her primary mentor in transpersonal healing work. Rebecca now collaborates with her and her daughter, Francine Shelby, Master Bodyworker, on seminars about consciousness expansion and holistic healing. Rebecca brings the astrology piece to this group, which has put together day workshops and currently a week-long seminar in Bahia, Brasil including shamanic journeys with psychologist Silvia Polivoy and plant teacher Ayahuasca.
Rebecca enjoys feeling and observing the astrology of the present moment, using this skill daily in both her work and personal healing path, raising cats and plants, and playing bass in the band with the boys.
